What’s Up!
It’s been WAY too long since I wrote a blog, so I’m sorry about that! But with that being said I figured I would hop on here and write about what we’ve been doing here, what ministry looks like, and what these next few months have in store for me and my team!
What have I been doing in Africa for the past 21 days!
We left Guatemala the 17th of December on Tuesday morning and left for Miami, then to Qatar, and then to Johannesburg (SA) and then took a 14 hour bus ride to Lesotho! On Saturday the 21st we officially made it to our base in Malea ela Valley, Lesotho! So I did a stop watch from the morning we left to when we finally made it here and it was 88 hours in total of traveling! It was crazy to see half of the world in the sum of 5 days!
Real Quick, I would love to talk about my time in Qatar, because that was my first time in the middle east and the time where I have been closest to where Jesus walked on this earth! We went out and saw the city for a few hours because we had a 12 hour layover. When we were out we met a guy who challenged my friend Jack Boone to a chess match, and it was interesting because we were talking to him and getting to know him, but because of laws, we couldn’t share the gospel with him, so it was a crazy to thing to be in a place where evangelism is illegal! That experience showed me how lucky I was to be born and raised in a country where you can spread the word of Jesus freely! We are so lucky!! But this definitely made me want to go back to the middle east to reach the unreached people groups some day!
Ok, now to Africa!
I’ve been here for 3 weeks and experienced two major holidays which looked way different than at home.
We had Christmas and New Year’s here which was cool to experience in their culture, but it was definitely not what we were used to coming from the states. For Christmas day we had a church service and then we had steaks and a barbecue for lunch with our host family which was great and then we got to talk to our parents which we weren’t expecting to do, which was a fun surprise. We also watched a Christmas movie that night which made it feel like normal. Then for New Year’s Eve there was an all night church service prayer that we attended for a little bit and we stayed up praising and worshiping the Lord to end 2024, and to start 2025 with worshiping as well! So this was fun to experience because it wasn’t normal but we still had a great time being together.
Here we stay at the church (Africa 4 Jesus) and live with the pastors families and our hosts who work with a missions organization, called Africa for Jesus!
The second Sunday we were here I was able to preach at church and that was an amazing experience to be a part of! I was able to talk about Romans 6 and talk about how we are dead to sin when we accept Christ and we are alive to God in this new hope we have in Jesus! I’m so thankful to be part of service and just to practice preaching!
Church here in Lesotho looks way different than church in America because of the cultural differences. Here in Africa it is a way more active worship environment and there’s a lot of dancing and praising to God, which is such a beautiful thing to get to be a part of here! Church is also three hours long, which is definitely not what we’re used to, but it is cool to see how dedicated these people are to the Lord and giving him their time!
The first week and a half being here we had a rest week because of the Jet lag and also it was our ministries holiday break so we spent time in prayer together as a team and we also spent time reading our Bibles and hiking and enjoying this new country!
The last two weeks have been jam packed full of ministry now and we have been doing house visits and during those visits, we’ve been able to read scripture with the people and even see some people come to Christ, which has been amazing to be a part of! It’s been so cool to see the fruit of our labor so far! We’ve also been helping building homes for the pastors of this church so we’ve been spending our afternoons doing!
During some of our house visits this week, we were able to pray over countless people, and even debate some scripture and just continue to encourage these people to press into the word of God and seeing his will for their lives! Yesterday at a visit a man asked for prayer in his chest, and we laid hands on him and prayed and he said that the pain went away after the prayer! It was so cool to witness a miracle, and we saw him again today, and he said that the pain was still gone and he was so thankful to the Lord!
Now the next two weeks of ministry are going to be one week at a prison getting to preach to the inmates and also encourage them with scripture, which will be cool because I’ve never worked during prison ministry before! and then the week after that, we will be doing a hike up a mountain doing a five day backpacking trip, going to unreached villages and spreading the good news! We will be staying in tents because there is no electricity or buildings where we will be and will be cooking food over the fire so this will be a very interesting week, but I’m very excited to see the people we are going to meet and be able to spread the good news to them!
NEXT FEW MONTHS!
We will be here in Lesotho for the next two weeks and then after we have our two weeks of ministry, we will head to Eswatini to meet up with the rest of our squad after 30 days apart, which will be good to see them again and hear all the stories from ministry in South Africa. In Eswatini we will be working with Adventures in Missions again with Children at their Care points!! Our parents will visit us after a month there which will be amazing because we haven’t seen them in almost 5 months and we will worship and do ministry with them for the week which will be amazing! And then we will have a week of worship with another squad on the field and then a week of debrief and then in mid March had to Indonesia for the rest of our time on the field! So the rest of the race is going to fly by! But God is so much left in store for us!
Today January 10th marks the halfway point of the race and I’ve just been reflecting on how amazing this journey has been that God has taken me on! I’ve seen miracles happen,I’ve seen people receive salvation, and I’ve met so many incredible people on fire for the Lord. I’ve strengthened my relationship with Christ to a point it has never been before and i’ve read SO much more scripture than ever before as well! I felt the Lord challenge me to read the whole Bible while on the race, and I’m currently in Psalms so i’m halfway done! I wouldn’t change this experience for the world, and I would recommend this trip to anyone! GO SERVE THE LORD! Wherever you are, whatever your age, God has a calling on your life to serve him and show his love to everyone you encounter!
Thank you for reading!
Miss you all! See you in 4.5 months!

Absolutely love when u get to blog!!! What an amazing adventure and growth in the Lord Jackson. You are truly living Hineni!!! Big hugs, thank you for the updateand reminder that scripture is so important and to lean in on our faithful, gracious God. We will see you soon. Continue to be on fire for God!!!
Jackson, It is interesting that the shortest chapter of the Bible, Psalms 117, is also the chapter in the middle of the Bible, with 594 chapters before and after Psalm 117. With only 17 Hebrew words in the chapter, it would be easy to commit it to memory.
Thank you for the update! Bravo! Well done!
Praise the Lord, all nations!
Extol him, all peoples!
For great is his steadfast love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord!
Jackson, Thank you so much for this blog and each and every detail.
Truly the Lord is blessing you, growing you, and using you for His Glory and Kingdom.
My verses for me this year, and for you are Psalm 148 : let every thing that has breath, Praise the Lord, all of creation! This reminds me of another one which says if we don’t, the stones will cry out!
The other verses are Proverbs 3:3+6. Trust and obey, So in trusting I will obey Him, including praising Him daily!
I see your parents almost every Sunday; they are so eager to visit you in eswatini!
Keep on keeping on with and for the Lord!
Our Ambassador class prays for you regularly, not just on Sundays.

Happy New Year! Wow! That’s an amazing update with great detail. I’m so happy you’ll get to see your parents soon. These pics are priceless. Maybe one day you could speak at a chapel about your experiences and how God used you. Keep up the great work!
Hello Jackson!
We are so glad to hear about the many things that God is doing in your life and the lives of your teammates. We will continue to pray for you as you experience ministry first hand. God is good. You are truly living out Philippians 4:9: “What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”
